7 Football Legends Who Left Their Clubs Against Their Will

Elite sport, and modern football in particular is a cruel world. For many clubs, the players are the employees who have to carry out tasks. Money takes more and more priority regardless of how effective the player is. And this, even if you’re a legend and you want to stay at the club.

It’s rare to see living legends leave their club against their will, like Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos most recently, both were captains at FC Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively. We’re returning to these painful departures in the following video: 7 football legends who left their clubs against their will.

  1. did totti leave roma voluntarily? kno he got hired in an office job in roma after career, but dunno if voluntarily! srry, hed the greatest example ofloyalty I guess so could b inneresting! as always love ur work!

  2. Hmm. For my laying it out like that is almoust fake news! Specially for messi! Messi left because barca couldn’t pay for him anymore but thats because messi didn’t accept to make less money! After the decision was made he tried to lay it out like you are saying but if you think about it, it just dosen’t mane sense!

  3. Iker's story is definitely the most heartbreaking, bcz this drama was on since euro 2012 til his departure

Well maybe since is debatable with Messi story

  4. Barça, Real Madrid, Milan, Juve, Bayern: * kicking players because they're getting "old", even if they are living legends for the club *
Man. United: * does the complete opposite * ?

  5. Messi is good player ..but he isn't best or greatest in the world … he mostly depends on his team mates to score … he isn't as good as before ..

  6. i'm an ac milan fans.. and pirlo departure was really an unfair decision. but i'm happy that he left and made a great impression at juventus. he's a really talented player and milan we're really bad at that moment.. and milan still struggling now to make a comeback as their glory days with bad signings and always changing managers.. i thought for sure after berlusconi sold the club, milan would be more greater than before but, its their downfall..
