The way the English football community and tabloids treated Beckham after this, I’m surprised he even strapped on the colours again. It was a national disgrace how they treated a 23 year old over a BS red flag call.
1978 Holland lost any and all credibility of ever winning the world cup, twenty years later I felt depressed for Bergkamp being born Dutch -> because extraordinary man and talent but will never lift that achievement and trophy although he deserves it.
2:18 has to be one of the dumbest red card in world cup history, refeere is right in front of him, what a way to left your team with 10 players.
Possibly the most unjust red card in history. Surprised that ref can sleep at night.
I like when Messi said
Ref's mistake, nor now neither back then, it was never a red card. It absolutely destoryed England's chance, and majorly down boosted Beckham mentally, otherwise thta couple of season was his peak, Ballon D'Or level game.
simeone is a dirty feck
THAT IS IT??? all this fuss about this?insane
At least David Beckham re-invested his money to save his retirement. Watching all the way from Vanuatu
Should have ended with the goal against Greece
que raro creí que la bruja Verón iba a hablar en ingles
That Bergkamp goal though ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Beckham es un caballero con letras mayúsculas. No así Owen
i think simeone is right, that moment gave beckham the push he needed, after that he became another player, a much more better version. a real fighter, not only a beauty.
Here in Argentina we greatly admire David Beckham, a great player and a great person.
Veron, Beckham, Zanetti, Simeone, they were awesome players.
Simeone was pulling his hair? That's creepy.
I came for Messi
Argentinians – drama queens as usual. That being a red card is a complete joke.
03:28 wrong translation. Pupi said that they DIDN'T get fully recovered for the match against Netherlands
Maldives….
Pretty amazing how they had time to talk about the free kick goal but not the goal of the tournament scored by Michael Owen in that same match…
We really appreciate Beckham here in Argentina. He's a nice dude. Not all Argentinians hate the English as you may think. There are still some, yes, but most of the population has (rationally) left behind the war.
You're man messi was a child soooooo
Simeone should have gotten the red card if anyone did. Both could have gotten a yellow card at the most. I thjnk Simeone is a worm.
That was a terrible red card though. Played for it so much
3:29 Error in translation …: Zanetti says "And we got … NOT fully recovered".
Cholo, always a cheater
Simeone was a cheat. He should have been sent off for the foul, and for the BS reaction to the teensy tape that Becks gave him.
They may have won the match, but we still own The Falklands.
Softest red card ever a team of Argentinas quality you would think they didn't have to cheat to win tournaments sadly its not the 1st time from them
Simeone no hizo nada anti-deportivo? jajaja la risa que me da, le dejo ir el cuerpo con la carga por la espalda, era de amarilla, sin duda y Beckham cayo en la trampa. Ahhh que recuerdos!
I still don't think it's a red card. As a rev you should have a feeling for the game. Feel the tension, know what is happening on the field. Beckham getting hit in the back, Simeone leaning on top of him. Beckham shouldn't have kicked Simeone. And of course Simeone took the dive. No-one blames him. A yellow card is fine, but red is just outrageous. What happened to Beckham in the years after is more on Kim Milton Nielsen than it is on Beckham or Simeone.
One of the many finals robbed by Argentina 🇦🇷
Lo que describe Messi es lo que hizimos y sentimos todos en esa epoca despues de ver un partido del mundial… ❤
I remember the papers after the incident; Ten Lions and one stupid boy!". Smh I can't even imagine what it was like for him tbh
It's really great that both Simeone and Beckham invited each other in their documentaries to tell their perspectives regarding that moment
Escucharon Mexicanos? Escucharon Chilenos? … para Inglaterra jugar con Argentina es especial. Asi como tambien lo es para Argentina jugar contra ellos.
Ustedes (mexico y chile) … no existen .. no son nadie en el futbol mundial. No cuentan.
What a great video. Keep it up Amazon. Never heard of this channel until today.
Completely incorrect red card. That's not excessive force or brutality. It's unsportsmanslike conduct. Nothing more than a yellow card.
its ridiculous how hot beckham is
Overrated incident and overrated player tbh😂😂😂
That red card Ridiculous! Good Grief
I’m so glad Netherlands beat them in the next game 😂 dirty so an so’s
When Veron says "el se tira…", he isn't saying "He falls down…" as these captions misinform. He actually said "He throws himself down" when referring to Simeone!
The dramatic music leading up to Becks entering the frame had me cackling 😂
Shoulder barging someone in the back of the head and then putting your weight all over their back and back of their head = yellow. Lightly brushing someone’s leg with yours = red. Cool. Makes sense.
Diego played dishonest and immoral, and hopefully got paid for that in one or other way
