10. Hot take: I genuinely believe he is a better shot stopper than Peter Schmiechel. The reason De Gea concedes so many is because he’s had average centre backs in front of him whilst Schmiechel had some of the best around. Roy Keane is one of his biggest critics but this myth that goalkeeping is an easy job is a nonsense. People who have never played as a GK are always quick to criticise. De Gea’s had a drop off but in his prime, he was the best.
