Germany has too many GKs… but too few good ones. It's (potentially) between ter Stegen and Neuer (depending on his comeback). But Trapp, Leno, Baumann & Co. are nowhere close to being a top tier number 1 keeper for the national team. The goalkeeper overload was a topic between 2006 and 2010, but it's gone downhill since. Especially with a decreasing number of young GK chargers coming up. The latest U21 keepers pretty much stagnated or aren't good enough (Schubert, Grill, Pollersbeck etc.)
