1. Couldn't watch this all the way through the cousin
Seemed like a Whiny brat was told off about smoking and now as a adult she has the immaturity to not see why that was appropriate

The other cousin was more compelling

  2. the fact that the all the cousins so far are were srill terrified of José and Kitty as adults is insane, I can't imagine what life was like for the brothers!

  3. "Two older, female cousins, sisters (Diane Vandermolen is the pregnant, more emotional one), who spent time in the Menendez household, told similar stories (one as late as 1983); showing emotion was a sign of weakness; no affection was shown to the boys; no crying was allowed; there were daily intellectual mealtime quizzes; competition was encouraged; losers were belittled; the boys and dad showered together after tennis (even when Lyle was 15); they maintained an arduous tennis regimen; Kitty had fits, took the boys on "joyrides" and drank; Jose was dominating; no neighborhood kids ever visited; they maintained the perfect family image, etc." – Hazel Thornton

The treatment of the cousins was horrendous, and it had to be 100 times worse for the brothers. Jose and Kitty turned Kathy and Diane into servants, basically. There's also an important boundary issue – the parents did not allow their sons to have privacy. Red flag!

The prosecution's ineptness and lack of preparation start to become obvious during this phase of the trial. As Erik's juror pointed out in her book, much of their arguments on cross-examination actually benefitted the defense, but they didn't realize it. They actually thought that they were asking good questions (Pamela Bozanich even now, still acts as if she was a brilliant prosecutor). To this day, Bozanich still paints Kitty as a victim, and the way she tried to blame Kathy for the treatment she received from the parents is just outrageous (and it only gets worse from here in terms of the prosecution's attempt to deny or downplay the abuse in the Menendez household). Of the two prosecutors, I will say that Lester Kuriyama was worse, and you'll see what I mean as the trial goes on.

  4. Prosecutor Pamela Bozanich when trying to argue that these family members lied for the brothers has said something to the effect of "If my child killed someone, would I lie for them? Of course I would".

I don't know about anyone else but if I knew my cousins had killed their parents simply to inherit money faster I certainly wouldn't make up lies for them and I think it's a little ludicrous for prosecutors to suggest that happened here.

  5. actually when kitty was joining lyle in the bath to help him wash his hair at 15, i don't think it was anything creepy. lyle had actually lost all his hair by that age due to all the stress from the abuse and had to wear a hairpiece, even eric said he didn't know lyle had to wear a wig for all those years because he'd kept it a secret. so kitty was probably helping him with the hairpiece and claiming she was helping wash his hair to respect his privacy about his baldness.
